Offering Full, Extensive Body Skin Exam

A full skin check is typically performed once or twice a year. The purpose of a skin check is to examine the entire surface of the skin in order to make sure that there are no suspicious moles or any lesion that looks suspicious for skin cancer. Dr. Behnam performs a thorough skin check under a magnifier, examining every inch of the body. Dr. Behnam specializes in performing a full thorough, 10-point skin exam.

1. Scalp
2. Entire face, including mouth, nostrils, eyeball
3. Neck
4. Chest
5. Abdomen
6. Armpits
7. Back
8. Arms, forearms, palms, fingernails, webs between fingers
9. Thighs, legs, feet, toenails, web between toes
10. Buttocks and groin area

If any lesion looks suspicious for skin cancer, then the area is either documented to be watched or biopsied. A biopsy is a sampling of a mole or a suspicious growth. It is send to the lab, where the dermatopathologist examines the slide and sends a thorough report to Dr. Behnam.

I was really nervous prior to coming to this office, because i knew i had to remove these skin tags on my face & neck... And i HATE needles & knives!!! However, as soon as Dr. Ben Behnam entered the room, he was so calm, nice and patient, i no longer felt anxious about my visit! Dr. Behnam is very easy going, and very knowledgeable... He listens to you, comforts you, then takes care of what needs to be taken care of by a PROFESSIONAL!
i am so glad he was the Dr. i was reffered to, instead of any other dermatologist. My skin now looks so much better... With just two visits, i am proud to say i no longer have tiny little skin hanging off my face! Oh, and parking is very convinient as well...
Thanks Dr. B... I am glad there are people like you on this earth to take care of skin problems, 'cause i could never do it!!!

I will now use Dr. Behnam as our family dermatologist for yearly skin care screenings or any other dermatological issues that may arise, in fact I took my son to see him yesterday.

I'm so happy to have found Dr Behnam, I had consulted with several doctors before selecting Dr. Behnam to perform the fractional C2 laser procedure on my face. May results are fantastic.

. I work as a makeup artist in the film business, my clients often ask for referrals, I will be giving them Dr. Behnan's information from now on.

Dr. Benham and staff are extremely attentive and helpful. The laser tightened my skin significantly. It took 45 minutes to numb, then 1/2 hour for treatment. The first night, it feels like a sunburn. After 2 days, the sweliing goes down. I looked normal at day 6 with younger skin.

★★★★★Great Dermatologist for you and your family!

thibault m.

Dr. Behnam accepted to see me as I was desparate to find a dermatologist on a Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles. Although I came from far away he waited for me to arrive and his intervention saved me a trip to the ER. The follow up appointment went great as results of his treatment were amazing. I would recommend this doctor to anybody who is seeking a youg, dynamic, knowledgeable dermatologist in the LA area. In addition, the location of his offices is very convenient even if you are coming from Hollywood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, or the San Fernando Valley.

Santa Monica then and Now

Did you know the late-1970s/early-1980s situation comedy Three's Company was set in Santa Monica? Santa Monica's economy began to recover in the 1980s. An early sign of that change was in my favorite neighborhood of Ocean Park. Main Street, a quaint mile of sawdust bars and dilapidated stores selling old furniture, was upgraded by the concerted efforts of a new generation of owners. At the northern end of Main Street adjacent to the still-declining Santa Monica Mall, a city block was levelled in 1980 to build a new mall, Santa Monica Place. While the Santa Monica Pier, another favorite place of mine, had been preserved from destruction in 1973, it was nonetheless poorly maintained.  Between 1988 and 1998, taxable sales in the city grew 440%, quadrupling city revenues. More than $500 million of private money has been invested into the Promenade, another favorite place, and the adjacent streets in the Bayside District. The 1990s saw continued development in Santa Monica. The Promenade caught on. Colorado Place, Water Garden, and other nearby office developments on the east side of town attracted MGM, Sony, Symantec, and other corporations. The Casa Del Mar returned to its former glory as a luxury hotel in 1999 after a reported $60 million renovation by the owners of the Shutters Hotel.  Santa Monica passed a law in 2003 restricting the distribution of food to homeless people in the city. Some organizations have deliberately disobeyed these laws.
