Where can Botox be injected?
(NOTE: the discussion below involves off-label uses of Botox)
FROWN LINES: These are lines in the frown area between the
eyebrows. These lines are also known as 11's.Botox is FDA approved
for relaxing these lines.
FOREHEAD LINES: Botox can be injected in the forehead to relax
forehead lines. Typically, 5 to 10 units are injected, depending on
how wide the forehead is. Also, if a lot of Botox is injected into
the forehead, the forehead will have no wrinkles, making it look
unreal. The trick is to use the appropriate amount to relax the
forehead while not giving it a frozen look.
CROWS FEET; Botox can also be injected for the wrinkles at the
lateral sides of the eyes, known as crows feet.

BUNNY LINES: Lines on the nose are known as Bunny Lines. Botox can be injected to relax these lines.
FLAT EYEBROWS: Botox can be injected at the lateral sides of the eyebrows, sculpting the brow and providing a beautiful lateral lift. Although not typically performed, Botox can be slightly injected above the brows if one eyebrow is higher than the other. This must be performed very carefully and should be only attempted by an expert physician.
SMOKERS LINES: Lines on the upper lip are known as Smokers Lines. Botox injected in small amounts will help alleviate these lines. If too much Botox is injected, then the patient runs the risk of not being about to drink through a straw and pronounce the words that contain the letter "O." The combination of Botox with Juvederm or Restylane does great wonders for the smokers lines. In addition, Fractional CO2 laser will significantly help regenerate collagen and remove and smooth out these lines.
WRINKLED & DIMPLED CHIN: Also known as peau D'orange chin, this is a chin that is all wrinkled up. This can be easily corrected by injection of Botox at the base of the chin, thus relaxing the muscle and smoothing out the wrinkles.
NECK BANDS: These are vertical cords on the neck. The reason for the vertical lines are simple. As we age, the muscle underneath the skin, known as the plastysma muscle, separate creating the vertical cords observed. Injection of Botox can alleviate these bands.
EXCESSIVE SWEATING: Excessive sweating on the forehead, armpits and palms is a common problem and can be very annoying and frusterating. The problem is very bothersome for younger adults, who want to hold their partners hands but cant because sweating issues. This can create a lot of frustration and anxiety. Topical treatments can work but not in everyone. Botox injected into the armpits or in the hands can eliminate sweating for a few months. It is a life changing procedure that is not appreciated until its performed. Dr. Behnam has had very good success in injecting the palms and armpits with Botox and Dyport for excessive sweating.
